Download Nodz

Nodz runs in your browser and as an app on Windows, Android and Linux. The apps contain the same encryption as the web app, and your keys never leave your device.

The app downloads are coming soon. Until then, use Nodz in your browser.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

How to install

  1. Download the installer and open it.
  2. Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Nodz installs for your account only, without administrator rights, and keeps itself up to date from then on.

Why the warning? Windows warns about programs from publishers it does not know yet. Nodz is new, and its installer is not yet signed with a paid Windows certificate. You can check that you have the genuine installer with its checksum below. Updates are signed with our own key, and Nodz refuses any update that is not.

Android

Android 7 or newer.

How to install

  1. Open this page on your phone and download the APK.
  2. Open the downloaded file. Android asks whether your browser or Files app may install apps: allow it, just for this.
  3. If Google Play Protect warns about an unknown app, choose Install anyway. Nodz tells you when a new version is available.

Nodz will also be available on Google Play; that version updates through Play.

Linux

64-bit (x86_64). For the tray icon on GNOME, install the AppIndicator extension.

How to install

Ubuntu, Debian, Mint and other Debian-based systems:

sudo apt install ./Nodz_*_amd64.deb

Fedora, openSUSE and other RPM-based systems:

sudo dnf install ./Nodz-*.x86_64.rpm

Any other distribution (the AppImage keeps itself up to date):

chmod +x Nodz_*_amd64.AppImage
./Nodz_*_amd64.AppImage

Check that a download is genuine

The SHA-256 checksum of every file is listed above. Compare it with the checksum of the file you downloaded; if they differ, do not install it.

Windows (PowerShell)

Linux

sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
