Use Nodz on several devices
Sign in on a new phone, computer or browser, bring your encryption keys along, and sign out devices you no longer use.
You can use Nodz on as many phones, computers and browsers as you like. Each device has its own keys, and your devices add each other to your conversations.
Add a device
- On the new device, open the web app or one of the apps and Sign in with your username and password.
- Nodz asks you to bring your identity to this device. Enter your recovery code and select Restore identity. The code never leaves the device.
- Open Nodz on one of your other devices. As soon as it is online, it adds the new device to your chats and groups.
Earlier messages are not copied to the new device: they were encrypted before it existed. Your contacts and settings do come along, because they are stored encrypted with your account.
Sign out a device
Go to Settings → Devices. You see every signed-in browser and app, with the date it was added and last active. Select Sign out next to any device you do not recognise or no longer use. It is removed from every conversation, so it cannot read new messages.
Remove Nodz from a shared computer
In Settings → This browser, Remove Nodz data from this browser signs you out and deletes your keys and messages from that browser. Your account and your other devices are not affected.
